We welcome submissions to "Animals & Men" and the "CFZ Yearbook", although we have to stress that, as we are a non-profit-making organisation, no payment can be made. 1. Format We prefer submission by email, to jon@eclipse.co.uk. They should be in Word or RTF format. Pictures should be separate from the text, not embedded within the text. If hard copy has to be sent, do not use fancy fonts (eg Comic Sans) and preferably enclose a copy on floppy disk or CD. Do not send diskettes for ZIP drives. Except under exceptional circumstances, and by prior arrangement, hand-written submissions, or submissions typed on a manual typewriter will not be accepted. Pictures should be jpeg format wherever possible, although we are able to accept ones that need Corel Draw or Adobe Photoshop to open them. If in doubt, ask. 2. Content As a rule of thumb, articles under 3000 words appear in "Animals & Men" and over 3000 in the Yearbook. Portions of articles that we deem defamatory or liable to cause offense will not be printed. We will not print anything prejudicial by reference to anyone's race, politics, sexual orientation. Tone can range from heavily academic to light-hearted, but lists of bad jokes, New-Age drivel, or poetry (except in exceptional circumstances) will be rejected. 3. References These are optional, but if included, we expect the standard academic format. References such as, "I am not prepared to say where I heard this," or "I know that I heard this somewhere, but I'm buggered if I know where," are not acceptable.
