From 10-5 on Friday 18th August there is an open day at the CFZ, which is much like the cocktail party described above except without so much tequila. This is a great chance to browse our library, talk about future projects and drink our wine. At 6.00 we move to the Community Centre, where we spend the next three days.
For this, our seventh Weird Weekend, we are breaking with tradition and having two stages. The main stage will be curated by the CFZ, but a second stage will present a selection of workshops where experts will demonstrate the techniques they use for fieldwork on the track of unknown animals. There are also four exhibitions, and a theatre company, a `Mad Hatter's Tea Party` for the kids, and several films. Visitors to the Weird Weekend this year will therefore be able to choose from between two different lecture halls, or merely wander around greeting old friends, and making new ones.
Food and drinks are served all day, and because it is Devon - by popular request - there will be a traditional Devon Cream Tea, on the Saturday and Sunday.
